What Does TPMS mean?

With new technology for vehicles coming out every day, it’s always helpful when these new systems help keep you safe on the road. Now, newer vehicles come equipped with a TPMS. So what does TPMS mean? TPMS stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which uses tire pressure sensors to track the air pressure of your tire.

If it senses one or more of your vehicle’s tires aren’t at the recommended pressure, the TPMS warning light on your dashboard will turn on or flash to let you know that you should probably make your way to a service center for some maintenance. The purpose of a tire pressure monitoring system is to track the pressure inside your tires and alert you if the levels drop too low.
